Princess Indigo has seldom been seen outside the walls of Abaddon Castle. Dark rumors swirl throughout the Ten Kingdoms that she has been cursed—and, unfortunately, the rumors are mostly true. The curse makes it impossible for Indigo to lead a normal life. Desperate to find a cure, she spends most of her time conducting experiments inside her mother's old greenhouse where her best friend, a magnificent silver wolf named Nyx ably assists her.
When a mysterious book appears one night inside the greenhouse containing an alleged Cure All for Curses, she and Nyx run away to search for the rare ingredients. Her journey leads her to a wizard named Zozimo and his handsome young assistant, Ion. Together, she and Ion undertake an almost impossible quest in which they encounter numerous mythic beasts and monsters.
Will Indigo succeed in her quest for a cure—or will unsuspected dark forces thwart her?

The ball is a total disaster and Princess Indigo runs away with her faithful wolf hound Nyx.She runs to the kindly Wizard Zozimo, who sends Indigo on a Quest to find a cure for the curse. Indigo is joined by Nyx, a very intelligent and resourceful bat named Bijou and the Wizard's assistant Ion.
I won't spoil the story by telling you what happened. Suffice it to say that the characters are charming and the plot is well rounded and unpredictable.
It's a great story for tweens, teens and dare I say ... adults!

Funny and fun, a charming re-imagining of the classic fairy tale infused with a modern sensibility and a cheeky wit, including a host of engaging characters and a wonderfully wicked villain.
Interesting book with lots of subtle ironies relating to today's world.
The story kept me intrigued throughout the book. Constantly wanting to know what would happen next. The descriptions allowed me the chance to close my eyes and imagine myself seeing it all as it took place.
Truly enjoyed reading this book. I liked the tongue-in-cheek approach and the imagery of the writing. It was a pleasure to read!
I have not been much of a fantasy book fan--- but could not put this one down! Was charming, funny, creative, and just plain fun. A wonderful escape---. I had so many wonderful visuals in my head from the great writing. Kids would really enjoy it, too. Should be a movie!

Meet some wonderful entertaining characters such as Dash the fairy, Bijou the Bat, the Crystal Dragon and Prince Ion. Let your imagination color your reading of this delightful storybook tale.
